The update of this Monday of the Ranking of the WTA brought a series of news. The most relevant was the return of Czech Petra Kvitova to the # 3 position in the world after the runner-up in the Premier 5 of Dubai.
For that, the runner-up of the Australian Open surpassed the North American Sloane Stephens, now fourth of the list. They complete the top five with Japan’s Naomi Osaka and Romania’s Simona Halep – who have maintained the # 1 and # 2 positions in the world, respectively – and Czech Karolina Pliskova, 5th.
The only other change in the top 10 was the exchange of positions between Dutch Kiki Bertens and German Angelique Kerber. Even eliminated at the debut in Dubai, Bertens overtook Kerber and is now the seventh best tennis player on the planet, his best career mark.

Ex-top 10, Swiss Belinda Bencic rose no less than 22 placements after the title on Kvitova in the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships. So she secured the 23rd place in the list. Semifinalist in the same competition, the Taiwanese Su-Wei Hsieh jumped 4 positions and is 31st. Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia remained in the 172nd position.
